Weather

The climate of Ethiopia and its dependent territories varies greatly. The country lies wholly within the tropics, but its nearness to the equator is counterbalanced by the elevation of the land.

Date &Time

Ethiopia lies in the East Africa Time Zone (GMT+3) and doesn’t observe Daylight Saving. Locally, be aware that people measure time in two daily 12-hour cycles starting at 6am and 6pm, so that their one o’clock is equivalent to seven o’clock, and vice versa.

How to get around

Ethiopia Airlines has 23 domestic route destinations bringing provincial and administrative cities within easy reach of the capital and the region’s commercial centres. In addition, there is a daily "Historic Route Service" for tourists to the country’s world famous ancient historic sites. You can travel through most of Ethiopia’s destination on asphalted roads by car.

Addis Ababa has a light rail transportation system, however, by car or by taxi is still the quickest way to travel around the city. Retail opening hours

Shops open from 08:00 A.M to 13:00 P.M and then from 14:00 P.M to 20:00 P.M, from Monday to Friday. On Saturday, opening hours for shops are a little shorter, from 09:00 A.M to 13:00 P.M and then from around 15:00 P.M to 19:00. P.M Shops are mostly closed on Sundays.
